I love gays, religious horror, and doomed yaoi. This book has it all.
Although I was mislead into thinking this was a smut book (I'm not ashamed of the slut I am.) I was indeed pleasantly surprised and not complaining.
This is the first book in a while that I didn't wish had a sequel. The way the story is tied up is incredibly satisfying and the suspense leading up to *the* moment was incredibly executed.
There is a small part of me that wishes it was longer and more detailed with Dante and Jude's relationship. The actual scenes that are meant to follow the relationship felt stale at times because (I felt like) there wasnt enough oppurtunity to get truly invested in the characters. If the author did this, it would allow the inevitable doom aspect to be more thrilling to endure.
Jude's feelings for Dante really blossom after certain turn of events and the way the author showed it truly was gut wrenching in more ways then one, and for that I applaud them.

How can a book be so well written and descriptive but have the plot of a tumblr fanfiction??? This story follows a fallen angel named Patch and a totally believable high school protaganist named Nora. Theres love triangles (or maybe squares??), biblical angst (love), and writing from an author who has never set foot in a highschool. What is there not to love?

I really don't like the twitter fanbase with this serious because it is giving me war flashbacks to when killing stalking first came out. Although this series is definitely not nearly as intense as that forbidden series, it definitely does not shy away from a dark and trauma - bonded relationship. I am always such a fan of redemption archs, especially when it comes to escaping something that seems so familiar and trying so hard to welcome a new type of love.
This online BL series follows an ex mafia/gang member, navigating his relationship between a caring and gentle man who wants to lead him out of the dark he knows, and a gang leader our protagonist has grown up with whose relationship is filled with trauma, insecurities, and a ting of internalized homophobia. Since when can gay people be happy in a story...

This story is the part of the series that the Hellraiser movies are based on. Although 85% of the book is batshit coke induced insanity, it does address the way nightclub, BDSM, and overall perverted ways are demonized and contorted into shock value in modern society.
